The tale of Craftcart

“Are we making something new?” is the question I used to ask my mom every time I entered her craft classes. I sat patiently next to her and observed for hours while she made jewelry or taught her students painting. I grew up watching her do a variety of crafts and learned more about art & craft sitting in her classes than I ever did in school. I have always wondered what would happen if we could make and sell these instead!

When I embroidered the first saree in fourth grade and gifted it to my mom, I enjoyed the process and saw the gleam in her eyes when she wore it. That day, I understood one thing: that people value your time, effort, and love when you make something for them. Since then, I have only been giving handmade gifts to my friends and family on all occasions. 

Later, when I embroidered and designed a saree again in the first year of college, the idea of opting for a hobby as a business struck me. That’s when I started designing and selling lehengas, sarees, and handmade festive decor items under the label “Tribhuvan Sales” back in 2014. I continued my entrepreneurial journey while pursuing my degree in Engineering and later with a corporate job. 

In 2018, I rebranded and registered my passion project as “Craftcart” - a one-stop shop for handmade home decor, festive decor, wedding decor, personalized gifting, and handcrafted jewellery. With the support of my family, I now serve customer orders across India.
